Congratulations to HBQVB coming in first place in the Lomangino Tournament, taking the BIG win home! This year we won the Nick Lomangino tournament and came in second in the Babe Ruth competition. They were the Metro NY State Finalists.
Being an umpire for HBQVB, I want to congratulate their 9U team.i umpired that game and it was one of the best games i have ever done. It only last 1 hour and 15 minutes, but it was a hard fought game on both sides
We are a non-profit private league funded by numerous grants and donations from city and state officials, as well as citizens of the community. It is based in Bellerose, Queens, in New York City, New York. Founded in 1954, HBQVB, is a member of the Babe Ruth League, and calls its complex the Padavan-Preller Fields. We are also a Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken League, and have been bringing youth baseball and softball to the children of the area for more than half a century. Its in-house program begins with five-year-olds playing T-Ball, continues with a PeeWee division for six and seven-year-olds, and goes right on through to sixteen year-olds, playing full-scale baseball. All divisions are instructional and are open to children of all skill and experience levels. Programs for seventeen and eighteen-year-olds are offered on a limited basis as well as field competitive travel and tournament teams in many age brackets. The field location is at 236-02 Hillside Ave. and the house phone number is 718-464-6088. In addition to the 9 playing fields, there is a full parking lot, equipment room, batting cages, restrooms, and a concession stand.
