The rain-out date for today's games, as posted on the Web site, is to be on Friday, May 8. Let's just hope it doesn't rain Friday as well.
So its about that time of the year again and everyone's been talking about it. It's one of the most exciting events for our ballplayers throughout the year and is quite competitive. The HBQVB-hosted Lomangino Tournament, which occurs every August, involves ballplayers aged 8-15. Each year, we have over 80 teams compete and are guaranteed at least four games. Fee includes umpires, balls, and T-shirts. But best of all, registration can be done through our Web site! To get involved, contact Ken Conyers. Time and date is still TBA, but the more input we get, the faster we can get a go on things.
So I'm not necessarily a Mets or Yankees fan, but I've got to say, I've really had enough with Alex Rodriguez. The guy's infamous and is constantly being featured in newspapers. Yeah, he's been in and out of court, surgery, and the D.R., but could the Yankees maybe keeping him because of all the publicity he's been getting? And now, he might or might not have tested positive during high school, according to Selena Roberts' new book. What kind of example does that set four our youth today?
